  Nice and relaxing stay, out in the country, a real throw back to the way life for the landed gentry might have lived. The house still retains much of its original charm whilst still handling the requirements of the guests.
  The garden walks a nice, can be mucky in places but you can borrow wellies from the house.
  Not the cheapest stay by any means but the seven course taster meal is very nice.

  Very poor. Sunday lunch €40pp, starter was a buffet style- which was fine, some elements very tasty. Main selection was poor- lamb or cod, but reasonably edible. Dessert was a dissster- buffet style again. Service very disappointing - originally placed a table of 9 in a conservatory in mid December- all members of the party were freezing including a 90 year old lady! Once moved inside, we had to make continuous requests for cutlery, cups and drinks etc. Coffee and teas served out of a plastic flask jug (carafe) - self service. We were appalled. Milk served in a plastic container. Coffee and tea were sitting out for hours. Very poor service, poor meal, nice location but will certainly not be returning. Very poor does not deserve its 4 star reputation.
